Prior to this official announcement, the Bakso Teen Gading stall located on Jalan Veteran, Joyosuran, Pasar Kliwon, Solo, had become a hot topic of conversation.
On Monday (3/11), the Solo City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) temporarily closed the shop. This action was carried out following allegations that the meatballs and chicken noodles being sold used non-halal ingredients.
“Today we have ordered to close temporarily until the laboratory test results come out. Later we will convey the results to the owner,” said Head of Solo City Satpol PP, Didik Anggono, when contacted by media crew, Monday (3/11), quoted from Merdeka.
The closure is temporary and will be lifted after the lab test results come out, with the condition that if it is proven to be non-halal, the product must be given clear information.
Initial Findings from DKPP
This suspicion stems from the findings of the Culinary Business Unit Monitoring Team of the Surakarta City Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP) on Thursday (9/10). The official DKPP report states that Bakso Teen Gading is categorized as non-halal and does not yet have a business license or halal certificate. Apart from that, the business owner, Sugino, also does not have a hygiene and sanitation certificate.
Clarification from the Family
Responding to the closure, the shop owner’s daughter, Thirthania Laura Damayanthie, immediately denied it. Thirthania emphasized that all the raw materials used are halal and that her family is Muslim.
Thirthania explained that the non-halal suspicion arose due to a communication error when the father was interviewed by the monitoring team. The father, who was confused, answered incorrectly and said “non-halal”.
“But actually all the ingredients are halal. No one uses pork or anything that is not halal. Because we are all Muslims,” said Thirthania to journalists on Monday (3/11), quoted from Liputan6.
Now, with lab test results that prove the product is halal, the Bakso Teen Gading stall will immediately reopen and restore customer trust.
